Item Information
The single port router connects to the phone line through a standard RJ-11 connector. It supports the current standards in Discrete Multi-Tone (DMT) ADSL line coding ensuring widespread interoperability with service providers’ ADSL systems. The Ethernet interface (10 M b/s) supports bridging and routing for individual PCs or Ethernet local area networks. The ATMF interface (25 M b/s) provides excellent service transparency, and supports consistent ATM-to-the-desktop networking for ATM workstations or multimedia devices, and local area networks. The modem can operate as a standard network adapter, providing an ‘always-on’ connection to the Internet or corporate network. In this mode the connection is set up when the PC starts up and terminated when the PC is turned off. The always-on mode offers the bene?ts of a regular network connection, e-mail is always up to date, and the Internet is ready to go. - Multiport self-learning transparent bridge per IEEE 802.1D - RFC 1483 multiprotocol encapsulation over AAL5/ATM: both LLC-SNAP and VC-based multiplexing supported - Remote bridge ports are isolated from each other - RFC 1577 Classical IP over ATM - Service monitoring through F4/F5 loopback and continuity checks - Remote/host software download capability - Can be used with Windows Macintosh and Unix platform ‘Dialup networking’ Features (PPP) RFC 2364 point-to-point protocol over ATM via PPPoA-to-PPTP relaying Multiple PPTP tunnels per end user allowing simultaneous VPN connections between multiple host and destinations Dialup networking user GUI allowing PPP session setup with service provider PAP, CHAP, MSCHAP authentication Support for PPPoE Routing Features IP routing Static routing Source and destination routing Terminates multiple PPP session per RFC 1661 Network address translation (NAT) Port address translation (PAT) Support for TCP and UDP ARP Telnet access to router DHCP server/client DNS server/relay Web-based management ADSL modem speci?cations Up to 8 Mb/s downstream Up to 1 Mb/s upstream Compliant with multiple ADSL standards: – ANSI T1.413 Issue 2 – ITU G.992.1 (G.dmt) – ITU G.992.2 (G.Lite)
